About
PACT AI is a 501(c)(6) trade association building the institutional infrastructure for trustworthy AI adoption at scale. We exist because AI is being deployed across the economy faster than the infrastructure needed to ensure it is safe, reliable, and secure can keep pace — and because no single company, sector, or regulator can close that gap alone.

Our Mission
PACT AI is a coordinating body for a credible assurance ecosystem grounded in technical rigor, operational reality, and independence from the commercial interests of the technology being assessed.
Our mission is to catalyze and steward the emerging AI assurance ecosystem in ways that enable innovation, mitigate harms, and earn public trust. We do this by convening the organizations that carry the greatest stake in getting AI assurance right, aligning the work of assurance providers with real-world deployment needs, and ensuring that policy and market expectations are informed by practical experience, technical expertise, and the public interest.

Our Vision
We envision a world in which AI systems are safe, reliable, and genuinely beneficial to the economy and to the people they touch. Achieving this requires more than good intentions; it requires collective effort no single organization can deliver alone. PACT AI exists to organize that effort. Realizing this future requires an interoperable system of AI assurance that functions as common infrastructure across systems, sectors, and jurisdictions. By pooling expertise and establishing shared expectations, such a system allows trust to scale more efficiently than any single organization can achieve alone.

Our Commitments
These principles guide the organization’s work, define the boundaries of collective action, and apply equally to all engagement classes.
Independent, science-driven assurance. Assurance standards must be grounded in rigorous, evolving science and free from undue influence of the entities being assessed.
Open and fair competition. We promote a competitive marketplace where assurance providers compete on quality, rigor, and innovation.
Shared accountability across the AI value chain. No single actor should bear all the risk for a system they cannot fully control.
Risk-proportionate frameworks. The depth of evaluation should match the actual risk and context of deployment — high-stakes uses require rigorous assurance; low-risk uses should not face the same burden.
Policy grounded in operational reality. We advance regulatory frameworks that are rigorous, achievable, consistent across jurisdictions, and free of redundant or contradictory requirements.
Responsive, pragmatic adaptation. The science of AI assurance must keep pace with technology, real-world impacts, and policy. We do not wait for perfect answers to act on good ones.
Public trust, earned through better outcomes. Trust and regulatory recognition are earned through evidence, accountability, and demonstrated harm mitigation — not checklist compliance.
